TAFCOM’s Women’s Tailoring Program gives single mothers and vulnerable women the skills they need to build independent, sustainable futures. Over the course of a one-year intensive training, participants learn to sew clothing, handbags, and household items—skills that open the door to employment or running their own small businesses.
Currently, 40 women are enrolled, many of whom are uneducated and struggling to provide for their families. With the income they earn, they are able to secure food, shelter, clothing, and education for their children.
Since most women cannot afford training fees or equipment, TAFCOM provides financial support and sewing machines when needed. To further empower them, we sell products made by the Women’s Tailoring Group, with all profits going directly to the tailors.
